An unusual opportunity to farm more than 200ha (500 acres) of well-maintained hill land on a 15-year farm business tenancy has arisen in Northumberland.

Low Tipalt Farm, near Greenhead, is described by agent H&H Land and Property as an excellent livestock farm and the firm's Matthew Bell expects a high level of interest.

"As it is being let for 15 years the farm really gives the new tenant the opportunity to develop a long-term plan. Low Tipalt will appeal to anyone keen to get a first step on the farming ladder, as well as those interested in expanding."

The holding consists of about 512 acres of upland, extensively fencing and drained, suited to forage growing, mowing and pasture grazing. There are modern and traditional farm buildings and a recently refurbished three-to four-bedroomed farmhouse.

The land lies within the Severely Disadvantaged Area and the Moorland Area and is subject to an Uplands Entry Level Stewardship Scheme. Single Farm Payment entitlements are included. (H&H Land and Property 01228 406260)
