Robert Wiseman Dairies has today (11 December) announced that it has joined the FTSE 250 share index, just over 60 years since the company was formed.
The East Kilbride-based company now processes and distributes more than one-in-four litres of fresh milk in Britain every day and employs over 4,500 people. It has recently completed an £80m dairy and distribution centre in Bridgwater, Somerset.
“We have a robust balance sheet with modest levels of debt and a well invested infrastructure which allows us to serve the whole of Britain,” chief executive Robert Wiseman said.
“We keep it simple, focusing on selling fresh liquid milk into a market which continues to grow, and we have a motivated team, all of whom are either shareholders or have been granted share options in the Company.
“It is for others to value the shares in our Company, but I believe we are well positioned for the future.”
