John Deere's 6030 Series Mannheim-built tractors, which also
include the 7430 and 7530 models, are being updated for 2010 to
give more power and lower fuel consumption.
The changes involve both Premium- and Standard-cab machines and
the 6530 model is being replaced by the new 6534 from February
2010.
Most of the tractors will get rated power increases of up to
5hp, says Deere, while Premium models will see a similar increase
in output when boosted by JD's Intelligent Power Management (IPM)
system.
Fuel consumption will be reduced by an average of 2-3% on
Premium tractors and up to 4% on Standard models thanks to software
and engine design changes.
The new Deere 6534 tractor will come in both Premium and
Standard versions. It combines a four-cylinder engine with a
six-cylinder chassis. Power output is 125hp, rising to 145hp with
Intelligent Power Management (IPM) for non-stationary pto and
transport jobs.
The 6534 keeps all the other main specs of the 6530 model,
including a 250-litre fuel tank and 6748kg lift capacity.
Deere says the tractor will have a good power-to-weight ratio,
with the long 2.65m wheelbase giving a maximum permissible weight
of 9500kg. A 24/24 PowrQuad Plus transmission with 40kph top speed
is standard, but AutoQuad Plus or AutoPowr 40 or 50kph
transmissions are available as options.
The Tier 3 high-pressure common-rail PowerTech Plus engine on
the Premium has a variable geometry turbocharger and exhaust gas
recirculation (EGR). The Standard engine has the same fuel
injection system, but does without VGT and EGR.
The cab is rated at 70.6dBA (the quietest on the market, claims
Deere) and features optional hydraulic cab suspension. It also gets
JD's CommandCenter with full colour display. For frequently used
functions such as the settings for the hitch, engine, transmission,
headland management system and SCVs, there are shortcut keys on the
control panel giving quick and direct access for changing the
settings.
Prices of the new 6534 tractor will start at £55,412 for the
Standard and £69,057 for the Premium models.
