Want to keep cows on outlying land a long way from the milking parlour?

Danish milking equipment maker SA Christensen can now supply a mobile robot milker set-up that can be towed to the field.

It consists of two robot milker stalls served by a single arm, plus a 4000-litre milk tank and cooler and a small office area.

The whole unit is on wheels so it can be towed behind a tractor. Cost in Denmark is about £134,000 for a twin-stall unit, but you'll also need a 42kW generator to provide power and an old slurry tanker or similar to take the 800litres/day of waste water.
