Herbicide formulation helps beet safety

A novel formulation that provides improved crop safety and increased yields is the central selling point for new sugar beet herbicide, Betasana Trio, its manufacturer claims.

United Phosphorus‘ three-way mix of ethofumesate, phenmedipham and desmedipham is formulated using the firm’s patented structured surfactant formulation (SSF) technology, Richard Allen, UK sales manager says.

“Beet crops are notoriously sensitive and need to be treated as gently as possible, particularly during the early stages of growth. Betasana Trio significantly reduces the threat of crop damage by using a unique oil formulation which is much gentler on the crop without compromising on weed control,” he claims.
