Potato kit manufacturer Reekie launched a new folding two-bed bed tiller at British Potato 2007 in Harrogate (28 & 29 November).
The machine is the firm’s first folding two-bed bed tiller and is rated for 200hp gearboxes, although power requirement varies from 150-250hp depending on soil type, said the firm’s Matt Thorley.
Growers can choose either spike, bladed or hook-tine rotors and the machine can be set-up to cover the full two-beds, or one bed plus two halves. It also features solid cast gears and three-point linkage at the back to attach a bed former.
Retail price is around £17,000 + VAT, which includes bed former and hydraulic markers.
