Winter barley summary

Winter barley yields are still down on the five-year average, but there is wide variation from 6.90t/ha at Alkerton, Oxfordshire to 10.90t/ha at Cawood in North Yorkshire.
 
The overall yield average of 8.99t/ha for 2016 continues to show a pattern of lower yields compared to the five-year average of 9.36t/ha and the shortfall has grown to 0.37t/ha below average.
