Pleasing yields in Lincs

Alan Hind is busy combining wheat at Elm Tree Farm, Little Bytham, Lincolnshire and is pleased with the year so far.
“The Volume winter barley was very good, yielding 9.88t/ha,” he said.
The Extrovert and Exquisite oilseed rape also did well, outperforming PR46W21 at 4.4t/ha.

Santiago winter wheat yielded between 9.88t and 12.35t/ha, coming off the field at 16-17.5% moisture.
“Disease hasn’t been a problem as we’ve managed to keep on of top of everything this year,” said Mr Hind.
“It’s been an excellent year for the wheat. Conditions have been fantastic for us – if there’s no wheat this year there never will be.”
