Combine harvesting winter barely
East Yorkshire grower Jonathan Hodgson is looking for drier weather later this week to finish off his winter barley harvest in what could be his last year of growing the crop. He cut 16ha of the variety California on July 23 and 24 with an average yield of 8.8t/ha and specific  weight of 71.2kg/hl, with the grain coming off the combine at 16.5% moisture.
