Bernard Matthews appoints new insurers

Friday 19 October 2012 14:15

Bernard Matthews has appointed Oval Insurance Broking as its livestock brokering and risk management provider.

The insurance will be delivered through Oval's "Poultry Unique" policy, which covers all forms of disease that may jeopardise a flock. It can also be tailored to cover a particular disease that a flock may be more susceptible to.

Alongside livestock, the policy can also insure other assets that can be found on a farm, including technology such as wind turbines or solar panels.

Andy Dutton, client director at Oval, commented "We worked very closely with the agricultural team at Bernard Matthews and were able to consult and negotiate a programme that was perfectly tailored for them".

Andrew Ballantyne, agricultural director of Bernard Matthews, said of the appointment: "The diagnostic approach Oval took, and the recommendations they subsequently made were very impressive, meeting all our needs and requirements. We are delighted to be working with Oval and we are looking forward to continuing the great relationship we have with them."
