Packed ringside sees three 1850gns bids at Ross dairy sale

A packed out ringside at Ross-on-Wye market’s collective sale of Holstein Friesians saw prices peak at 1850gns three times.

 

First to achieve the top price was the freshly calved heifer Tretire Westminster Royal Lady from Idris and Mark Evan, Hereford.  Sired by Avenham Westminster and out of a Genus Jason dam, this one was purchased by S C Vaughan, Leominster.

 

Next at the same money was another fresh calved heifer from J Morgan, Tewkesbury, the buyers were S and C May, Bromsgrove Worcestershire.

 

Also at 1850gns and the leading price in the dispersal sale of the Shucknall herd was the second calver Shucknall Aaron Pearce by Dixie Lee Aaron and out of Trevase Lily Pearce by Etazon Lord Lily. She was sold giving 51kg daily and was bought by H E and J A Cowles and Son, Monmouth.

 

At bid of 1650gns topped proceedings in the dispersal sale of Peter Cuthbert’s commercial herd from Minsterworth, Gloucester, this time for a 2nd calver by Avenham Westminster. Buyers were D A Bennion, Shrewsbury, Shrops.

 

Served heifers were also in the money with a bid of 1550gns for Hasworth Baxter Tiffany 56th, a Emerald ACR sat Baxter daughter off a 10,258kg Hershel dam from B Rich Gloucester. The buyers were the Mollat Partnership, Ottoxeter, Staffordshire.

 

Heifer calves sold to 980gns, with a four year old Angus stock bull selling for 1620gns.
