AgriScot 2011: Jersey scoops heifer championship
A Jersey heifer has been crowned supreme heifer at this year’s AgriScot event in Edinburgh. Clydevalley Governor Flora is by Griffens Governor ET and was put forward by the Hunter family, West Tarbax Farm, Lanarkshire.
This one was shown by Alison Hunter, who said “she has never been beaten” and today’s title follows on from the success of breed heifer champion at this year’s Highland Show.
Judge Ashley Fleming, Downpatrick, Co. Down, said: “When you are in this you are looking for a heifer that comes to the top of her breed.
“This one had tremendous ring presence; she went around the ring really enjoying herself. She has a tremendous, long body and moves exceptionally well with really good legs and feet.”
