Chance of a tenancy in Shropshire

A rare opportunity has arisen to rent a good-sized arable and grass farm in north Shropshire.

Manor Farm at Calverhall lies to the south east of Whitchurch, extends to 93ha (230 acres) and includes a fully refurbished five-bedroom farmhouse with traditional and modern farm buildings.

The productive land is virtually ring-fenced, with 94 acres of arable and 131 of pasture. As well as several cattle yards, there are three dutch barns, two silage clamps and a large traditional brick building with eight bays.

It is offered by the Cloverley Estate on an initial 10-year farm business tenancy, and is to be let by tender through Balfours Property Professionals.

“The previous tenant’s family have been at Manor Farm for more than 60 years and the estate are keen to keep the farm as a whole farming unit,” said agent David Groves.

“This would suit a young farmer who wants to either complement or diversify away from their own family farm, or perhaps a larger enterprise requiring the extra capacity to expand and improve efficiently.”

The viewing day is on 30 June, with tenders closing on 28 July. The tenancy will begin on 1 October, but earlier entry to the land may be arranged.
