The Royal Agricultural Society of England, the troubled organiser of the Royal Show, received another blow after it announced the Winter Fair has been cancelled.

The fair, which was set to run on 22 and 23 November at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, was cancelled due to a lack of exhibitors, show organiser RASE said.

Simon Frere-Cook, RASE director of events, said the decision to cancel the event was “very disappointing”.

“Because a number of potential exhibitors are unable to commit to the event, in the current economic climate we have no option but to cancel this year’s Winter Fair,” he said.

“We will continue to keep an event of this type under constant review for future years”.
