As part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs’ (NFYFC) recruitment and retention campaign, 19-25 September marks the 2016 National Young Farmers Week.

Young Farmers’ Clubs across England and Wales will be hosting new members evenings and using different media to spread the word about the rural youth organisation. Cornwall YFC have been using sculptures made from straw, hay and silage bales to catch the eyes of passers-by.

To recognise the week, Farmers Weekly ran a writing competition asking people what the best thing about YFC is. There were loads of great entries, but the winner was 14-year-old Caroline Whittaker from Newport Pagnell YFC in Buckinghamshire.
