Tell us about life as a Young Farmer and you could win £200

Young Farmers… tell us what’s great about being a YFC member and you could win a cash prize.

All you have to do is write a piece of 600 words or less, with the title “The Best Thing About Young Farmers Is…” and the one we like best will net the £200 first prize.

We will publish the winning entry – and some of the others we particularly like – in Farmers Weekly so you’ll be helping to spread the word about what a great organisation YFC is.

Plus, think of all the bragging rights you will earn from getting your piece appear in your favourite farming read.

So if you are – or used to be – in a Young Farmers’ Club, tell is why you love or loved being a member of the countryside’s best youth organisation.

YFC members put on a play

You might want to tell us about one or more specific aspects you have been involved in – sport, drama, or public speaking, for example.

Alternatively, you might tell us about how it changed you as a person, helped you in your career, opened up opportunities to travel or helped you have a great social life.

You could either focus on a specific event or experience or make the piece more general about YFC life.

Ultimately, we just want to get a sense of why it is – or was – such an important part of your life and why you’d recommend joining to anyone else who may be considering it.

We’re running this competition to celebrate National Young Farmers’ Week, which the National Federation of YFCs is running from 19-25 September.

The closing date for entries is 9am on 12 September. Email your entries to fwfarmlife@rbi.co.uk
