Move aside, George Clooney. Stand down, Keira Knightley. Movie stars are one thing, but the countryside is full of sexy men and women – and now Farmers Weekly wants to find them.
FW, in association with Wellington boot manufacturer Dunlop Protective Footwear, is on the search for Britain’s Sexiest Farmers. We want to debunk some of the stereotypes about farming and show that the agricultural industry is a modern and vibrant one.
There’s a real need to attract new blood into agriculture and we want people to see that farming is an industry you can be proud to be part of.
The competition is open to anyone involved in the farming industry – either because they live or work on a farm or because they are employed in an allied industry.
We’re after entries or nominations from both men and women – and of any age. We know that, like a fine wine, some people improve with age so don’t be afraid to enter if you’re not, er.., in the first flush of youth.
Perhaps you’re sexy in the traditional (phwooar) sense of the word, or maybe you’re smooth or super-cool or hilariously funny.
Perhaps you’re sexy because you’re such a snappy dresser or because you’re so brilliant at running a farm or another rural business? Maybe it’s someone who’s simply so hard working and committed to the farm or the family that you find this trait so appealing it’s sexy.
There are some great prizes on offer. Over the next couple of months we’ll be pulling together a shortlist of five women and five men and each of these will win a super pair of Dunlop boots (see below).
We’ll then open things up to a vote so we can choose two overall winners (one man and one woman) who will each win and additional £250.
Definitely a sexy prize!
How to enter
You can put yourself forward, or nominate someone you know - your other half, for example, or a relative, friend or neighbour. Perhaps there is someone at your college that might be a contender for this coveted title? Or how about your YFC group?
You can either upload a picture direct to the Sexiest Farmer Gallery or email us a photo of the person with a line or two telling us who they are and why they’re sexy. If you are emailing please make sure you give us your name and phone number too.

How to upload an image
1) You will need to be registered on FWiSpace in order to upload a picture. If you are not already a member then you can join here.
2) Once you are signed into FWiSpace you submit a picture using the ‘add picture’ option. Click the ‘add picture’ link to bring up a box which allows you to locate the picture on your own computer, give it a headline in the ‘Friendly name/subject’ area.
3) One you have completed the steps set out in (2) press ‘save’ at the bottom.
Note: Pictures should be no more than 4MB in size

The prizes
A judging panel will sift though all the entries to come up with a shortlist of five men and five women. We’ll then give readers the chance to pick their favourite male and female from this group by voting online in the New Year.
