Livestock 2012 – Exhibitor bred championship

As the excitement of the championships mounts, the ringside crowd has watched judges select from a class of seven contenders their Exhibitor-Bred Champion – taking the Robert Moud Perpetual Shield. This has just been taken by ET Tomlinson’s Ayrshire cow in-milk Sandyford Clover 10 that scored 58/60.

By KC Roses Chatter T Red and out of Sandyford Clover 7, she has returned to the show scene after being retired once and is kept in isolation to avoid TB restrictions, explained owner and handler Blaise Tomlinson. “She’s a seventh calver and is giving 45kg a day at 4.5% butterfat and 3.4% protein.”

Into Reserve with 54/60 points went the Holstein in-milk cow Blyth Farms’ Blythbridge Elegant Christabel. This former Champion Heifer from AgriScot by Blythbridge Elegant Dundee and out of Ardgairney Mort Christabel 3 is currently giving 66 litres/day.
