Smithfield Festival: Sheep championships

The champion native pair of lambs was awarded to a purebred Southdown pair from Meesers Harmer and Wakeham-Dawson. They also received the Sir Richard Cooper Perpetual Trophy for the best pen of two native pure bred lambs. In reserve was Messers Malcolm M Stewart with a pair of Suffolk x Beltex.

 

The title of champion continental went to D S and L E Wadland’s pair of Blue Texel x Texel cross who were also named best pair of lambs bred by the exhibitor.

 

In reserve was Mr A D Bishop’s pure bred Texels. These also won the Royal Smithfield Club Perpetual Trophy for the best pen of two continental pure bred lambs.
