Bergmann chaser bin holds 34t of wheat

Chaser bins just keep getting bigger, but according to trailed implement specialists Bergmann, this one’s about as large as we’re going to see in Europe.

That’s because at about 3m wide, 12m long and 4m high, it’s at the upper end of most EU legal limits for the road.

Empty, the GTW430 weighs 12t and the cavernous hopper holds 34t of wheat. The fat, 1,100t/hr unloading auger bolted on the front can empty its entire contents in a couple of minutes, though.

To help spread some of this weight, Bergmann has fitted three axles and six chunky Nokian floatation tyres. There’s also an electro-hydraulic steering system to help wrangle it round corners.

The most basic version costs €85,000.
