Lamma 2015: Perry of Oakley shows dust collector for all dryers

A dust collection system for any make and model of grain dryer will be unveiled at Lamma by crop drying and handling specialist Perry of Oakley (Stand 115).

The CentriKleen system can be installed on new or existing 1m- or 1.25m-diameter axial fans and uses no additional electric motors or wiring.

There are also no moving parts in the galvanised steel construction and, being relatively light, no additional steel supports are needed, says the company.

Perry of Oakley adds that CentriKleen will extract and collect 90% of visible dust and chaff, which otherwise ends up on roof, yard and equipment – a performance that has been independently assessed by Harper Adams University College.

To reduce the build-up of dust, chaff and seeds in the first place, Perry has also developed the pneumatically operated Light Grain & Chaff Recovery System, which is installed at the base of the exhaust plenum of a continuous-flow dryer and periodically discharges any product that has been pulled from the grain column.

Returning this material to the main grain flow via the discharge hoppers removes the need to clean out the exhaust plenum manually.

The system can be fitted to new dryers or retrofitted to shutter discharges on existing dryers, with clean-out frequency regulated through a PLC control.
