Accuracy and capacity were two big themes behind this year’s Muck North West, with manufacturers reporting increased interest in flow meters and weigh-cells for use both in slurry and muck applications.

According to Nantwich manufacturer Spreadwise, about 50% of their dribble bar applicators are now supplied with flow meters and spreader manufacturer Shelbourne Reynolds’ latest model is available with GPS compatibility and weigher.

There’s a continuing trend towards surface application systems, however Spreadwise reckon the drop in fertiliser prices has caused a shift in interest from injection to dribble bar systems compared to the same period last year.
