The rapid growth in registrations of tractors above 50hp has slowed through April, according to the latest figures from the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA).

Sales for the month totalled 1,072 units, which represents a 4.6% rise on the same period last year. That means that year-to-date sales are now 20.2% higher than the first four months of 2016 at 4,096 units.

The AEA puts the more restrained sales down to the timing of the Easter holidays, which fell in March last year but April this year.
