Abattoirs fail hygiene tests
THE Ministry of Agriculture has found that 32 abattoirs in the UK fail to meet hygiene standards.
Research found more than 97% of abattoirs did reach the recommended standard – but 2.4% did not.
Officials stressed that failure did not indicate meat from the abattoirs was unfit to eat.
