Advice on offer

A NEW Welsh milk producer organisation aims to recruit 1000 subscribers to its farm costings and advice service over three years.

The Welsh Dairy Club was instigated by NMR, the dairy farm recording service, in association with the Welsh Office and the Welsh Development Agency. It has obtained £250,000 of EU Objective 5b funding to provide services designed to maximise business performance.

NMR users in the 5b region, which includes Gwynedd and most of Dyfed and Powys, will have access to an enhanced costings service, monthly profit potential reports, assistance interpreting recorded data and free entry to seminars and workshops that focus on new technology.

Members will also be able to share information on a project website and to compare their figures with those of other members.

NMR-registered producers outside the 5b area can join the club, but will not be eligible for the EU subsidy, which will cut the cost of membership inside the area to £6-£12 a month.

No subscription has been agreed for non-NMR users who could join if their records are fully compatible. &#42
