Capsids on beet
DAMAGE from capsids is visible in sugar beet in many areas, particularly in areas of north Norfolk, says IACR-Brooms Barn. From a distance, it can be confused with virus yellows but capsid damage is at the ends of leaves and affected leaves are are not brittle. Damage seen so far is unlikely to cause significant yield loss and treatment is not recommended.
