Cooling grain with columns

Cooling grain with columns

KEEPING grain cool is essential to prevent crop deterioration and, ultimately, loss of profit.

To achieve this, Spaldings now has a range of cooling columns and fans in its range. Designed for use in bulk stores, bins or silos, the columns are designed to quickly cool grain to ambient temperatures after drying.

The company says the columns can be used in buildings with grain depths from 2m to 4m (6ft to 12ft) and column height can be changed by adding or removing sections.

Designed to be freestanding, the columns are claimed to be inexpensive and easy to install. (01522-500600, web-site www.spaldings.co.uk)
