Indonesian palm oil export ban ‘indefinite’

THE Indonesian Government has ruled that its three-month-old ban on exports of palm oil will stay in place indefinitely. The countrys palm oil industry has attacked the decision, claiming supplies and prices have stabilised.

Indonesian palm oil production is expected to climb to 5.90 million tonnes this year up from 5.36m tonnes in 1997.
