Open up your markets, Clinton to tell Chinese

BILL CLINTON, US president, will travel to Beijing this week to tell leaders that World Trade Organisation membership is conditional on them opening up Chinas markets.

The US-China Business Council has released a reported claiming that their are wide gaps between WTO requirements and Beijings position. Points of contention include access for agriculture, industrial goods and services.

US companies believe success in China is critical for them to maintain global competitiveness.
