Prescott names new national parks
NEW national parks in the South Downs and the New Forest have been announced by Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott.
The creation of the parks, the first in 50 years, will bring the total number of national parks in England and Wales to 13.
Landowners have complained that extra protection for the Downs is bureaucratic and unnecessary.
