Sclaims refuted

CLAIMS that all prilled elemental sulphur fertilisers oxidise too slowly to benefit plants in the same season have been refuted by supplier New-Trition. Research shows particles need to be 150microns or smaller to degrade in time, it says.

Traditional bentonite S fertilisers have only 25% of their particles less than 150microns, so less sulphur is available in the year of application, says technical director Anne Noble. By contrast SulFer 95 has 100% of particles under 74 microns and 98% less than 44 microns, ensuring sulphur is oxidised in time. &#42
