Six calves cloned from bull’s ear
SCIENTISTS from America and Japan have cloned six calves from a bulls ear using a technique of cloning from cultured cells.
The development of this technique means it will now be possible to produce an identical herd of genetically modified animals from an individual.
It also raises the prospect of performing unlimited modifications to the genes of cattle, and other farm animals.
The research was carried out by the University of Connecticut and the Kagoshima Prefectural Cattle Breeding Development Institute in Japan.
