Supermarket sells £30m Welsh beef
OVER 5000t of branded Welsh beef worth around £30m is to be sold through Tescos 49 stores in Wales.
More than 30,000 cattle born and reared on the 600 fully farm-assured units in the principality will be slaughtered and processed at St Merryn Meats new abattoir at Merthyr Tydfil in Glamorgan. Point-of-sale pre-packs will carry a Welsh Reared Beef label. *
