Tap dispensers set for replacement

SAFER organophosphate dip dispensing systems, to replace tap dispensers, may be available in time for the main autumn sheep dipping period, believes Schering-Plough.

Coopers Ectoforce is close to licence approval, says its product manager David Beach. "It is based on water-soluble wrapping, proven in the chemical industry."

This closed dispensing system removes any risk of operator contact with OP dip concentrate. Dip is contained within a water-soluble protective bag, which is inside an outer bag to allow handling when wearing statutory protective clothing, he explains. Users simply open the outer bag and drop the inner bag containing the dip, into the bath with a known amount of water.

Mr Beach anticipates limited supplies will be available in time for the main autumn dipping period. &#42
