Welfare inspections
RANDOM inspections of calf and pig units to ensure producers comply with welfare rules are expected to begin in the early summer, says the Northern Ireland Department of Agriculture.
The inspections, required under EU rules, will be carried out by DANI vets and the results will be passed to the EU Commission. *
