Widest on market

McCONNEL now claims to have developed the widest rotary mower on the market – the Schulte 5026, which offers a 7.9m cutting width.

Boasting three mower decks and a 947rpm blade speed, McConnel says the mower can achieve 50% greater workrates than 6m models.

The Schulte 5026 is designed for use with tractors over 120hp and is equipped with a central gearbox rated at 200hp which receives drive from the pto.

This central gearbox transmits power to five rotors each equipped with four heavy-duty up-draft blades which provide a 15cm overlap.

To enable mowing over changing ground contours, the outer decks allow a 15í up and 45í down movement.

Armed with overrun and shear bolt protection, the 7.9m mower can fold to 3.43m, says McConnel.

At the other end of the scale, the company has also introduced a range of medium duty flail mowers in 1.3m, 1.7m, 1.9m and 2.25m widths.

Intended for mowing scrub and grassland, the Magnum series cost from £1815. &#42
