Will two into one ever go?

PROSPECTS FOR a single Scottish winter show, merging AgriScot and the Scottish National Winter Fair, look as distant as ever, with the organisers of the two events failing to reach any agreement.

Under the brokerage of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, representatives of AgriScot and the Scottish National Winter Fair had held various meetings to explore the possibility of combining the two events.

RHASS immediate past chairman Willie Sanderson said: “The meetings were very amicable.

But, with the 2004 shows now so close, it was agreed that talks should be put on hold to allow both parties to concentrate and reflect on this year‘s events.”

Meanwhile, AgriScot will take place on Nov 17 at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh, with the Scottish National Winter Fair being held a week later, on Nov 24, at Perth Agricultural Centre.
