STOCKS OF the sodium cyanide rabbit control product Cymag must be used or disposed of by the end of December to avoid prosecution, users have been told.

Cymag was removed from sale at the end of 2003, but use or disposal is only permitted until December 31 2004, said Shirley Wilson of Sorex.

“Anyone in possession of Cymag after that date could face prosecution if they have not disposed of it.”

Beyond Dec 31, rabbit control options will be limited to phosphene generators, shooting or trapping, she added.
