New pure-line and hybrid winter oilseed rape varieties are to be unveiled by Dekalb on the Monsanto stand. Both are candidates for recommendation this winter.

DK Cabernet has a two-year East & West Region National List gross output of 115 % of controls against benchmark Castille’s 103%. Combining 46.3% oil content with very high seed yields, it also boasts the highest UK gross output of any candidate.

Rated 7 for stem canker resistance and 8 for light leaf spot, the medium-height variety scores 8 for both lodging resistance and stem stiffness and is rated medium for earliness of flowering and maturity.

DK Exquisite is a high oil, high yielding hybrid alternative to the likes of Flash and Dimension with a two-year East and West region NL gross output rating of 107.

Of a similar height to Excel, the new variety is a high management hybrid, rewarding the best agronomy with high seed yields at 45.7% oil. It offers stem canker resistance of 5 and light leaf spot resistance rating of 7.
