Construction on the project is set to begin within the next few weeks and is expected to be completed by early autumn.
David Sheppard, managing director of Gleadell, said the development cemented the grain trader’s future at Immingham, where it has exported 15m tonnes of grain from over the past 20 years.
“This facility will give us the flexibility to import or export in what will be a fluid, fast-moving grain market in the years ahead,” he said.
“Also, we see the possible expansion of the biofuel industry in the immediate vicinity of the port creating a new demand for grain storage.”
