Good yields for Winner osr

The weather is holding back harvest for Peter Tegerdine from Waldersey Farms Ltd, on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.

Eighty hectares of Winner oilseed rape was not too bad, but better than last year with yields varying from 3.25t/ha on poorer fields to 4.4t/ha on the best. It was also of good quality.

A trial of eight hectares of Lioness was very good and yielded over 3.75t/ha.

Soissons wheat should also be ready to cut, however the “rain is slowing things down”.
