New beet herbicide

New Makhteshim-Agan sugar beet herbicide Goltix Uno’s dual residual combination of ethofumesate and metamitron offers broader spectrum weed control than metamitron alone, and simplifies residual product selection, according to the firm’s Jackie Passey.

In trials, control of difficult weeds such as black bindweed and fat hen was improved through using the formulated mix, together with contact weed killer phenmedipham.

“We see the new formulation being directly substituted for Goltix within spray programmes,” Mrs Passey says.
