Two completely new ranges of Fendt tractors will make their debut at Cereals 2010, providing the power and highest technology for arable producers as well as versatile, smaller models for mixed farming operations.

The eagerly awaited new 819 to 828 Vario models with powers from 200hp to 280hp now set the benchmark in the 200hp+ sector offering exclusive advanced features and controls.

At the same time, the new 200 Vario range, from 70hp to 110hp, brings Fendt’s high-tech benefits to farmers and contractors looking for a versatile and economical tractor with a superb power to weight ratio that excels in the yard and field.

Fendt already leads the 200hp+ sector in the UK, accounting for one in four of all tractors sold in this important power bracket. The five new models will further strengthen this position by offering unprecedented levels of performance with economy, technology and comfort.

One of the most noticeable differences compared with the original 800 models (which are still available) is the new X5 cab, which is the largest on the market. This has full suspension and air conditioning as standard and all models are suitable for reverse drive applications.

The completely new Varioterminal is available with a 7in or 10.4in screen, which provide straightforward and intuitive operation, along with Isobus implement control, auto-steer and documentation.

All the new tractors are powered by the latest generation, Deutz 6.06 litre capacity, 6-cyl engines, which have been developed in association with Fendt. These are the first in the sector to feature Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).

By employing the SCR system, which treats the exhaust gases with AdBlue additive, the engines can be set for optimum performance, while still meeting the strict Stage 3b/Tier 4 interim emission regulations. This allows Fendt to provide exceptional power and torque, while also providing a 7% fuel saving.

The Vario transmission is standard and works with the TMS Tractor Management System, providing ultimate control allowing the tractors to operate at optimum output and efficiency. TMS automatically adjusts the engine speed and travel speed, which ensures it always works at the best possible economy. This will cut fuel consumption by 10%.

Independent front axle suspension is also standard across the range. This is fitted with integral Fendt Stability Control (FSC), which enhances comfort and safety. This combines with a new reactive steering system that alters the response automatically, helping to maintain a straight course on the road and in the field.

All new 819 to 828 Vario models have an entirely new drive train, which features new, wet multi-plate disc brakes in the back axle along with a disc brake on the cardan shaft to the front axle.

Designed specifically for use with modern, complex implements that often demand high hydraulic oil flow and pressures, all 819 to 828 Vario tractors are equipped a load sensing hydraulic pump delivering up to 193 litres/min at 200 bar.

Tractors can be fitted with up to six, electronically-controlled spool valves at the rear and two at the front and their operation can be programmed into the headland management sequence.

All models offer an enormous lift capacity of 11,110kg, with full electronic linkage control and shock-absorber system. There is a choice of 540E/1,000rpm or 1,000E or 1,000rpm rear PTO. The front linkage has a 4,450kg lift capacity and a 1,000rpm PTO drive is an option.
