Oat yield not as high as hoped

“We‘ve been growing Gerald for years,” he said.

“Our yield came in at 6.7 t/ha (2.71 t/acre) which is not good enough”

As a lot of other farmers, Mr Orlick said his oilseed rape crop was variable.

“It had its bad bits and it had its good bits but it averaged out well.”

He said he was getting roughly 3.71 t/ha (1.5 t/acre) for his 11ha (27 acre) crop which he says he‘s happy with.

Mr Orlick intends to start harvesting Soissons and Hereward wheat crop next week
