The onions are coming off at reasonable size; yielding 50t/ha (20t/acre).

“We‘ve had quite a lot of rot in the onions, especially where we were a bit late with the sprays.”

If it gets too wet to continue with onions, Mr Hardstaff will harvest his potatoes.

“It‘s better to harvest the potatoes in the wet rather than the onions because we‘ll just waste time on the onions.”

He hopes to make some progress on the potato harvest in 10 days time.
