Promising rapeseed at Balsham

Oilseed rape looks well at Dungate Farm, Balsham, Cambridgeshire.

“We should be starting on that next week,” said Adam Horsfield. “It established really well with the subsoiler, and is looking very good.”

After that would come winter wheat or peas, which would probably ripen in a couple of weeks time, he said.

“The wheat doesn’t look too bad, although it’s slightly all over the place. The fields we think should be rubbish are looking good, and the ones we think should be good are looking rubbish.

“We’re just going to have to wait until it’s all in the barn.”
