Despite the oncoming rain Bruce Udale in Telford, Shropshire, said everything is under control at the moment.

Recital oilseed rape yielded around 3.75t/ha which he hopes to be higher on the better fields. Quality was good and yields were equally as good as last year.

He said wheats were looking good around the region on the heavier lands but the dryness had knocked the edge off the lighter land wheat.

He also suggested this early harvest will not help produce the maximum yields for the wheat.
