GREENVALE AP has been chosen as a preferred potato supplier to Sainsburys following a supply base review, the company has announced.

The supermarket‘s decision will effectively double the quantity of potatoes supplied by Greenvale each year, said the firm‘s Craig Sankey.

“This is fantastic news for Greenvale AP and its existing grower supplier base,” said chief executive, Alan Owens

“We will obviously be looking to new growers who wish to supply us in the future and are delighted with the faith shown by Sainsburys in Greenvale.”

The news of the supermarket contract comes after the announcement of a £1m investment in new grading equipment at the firm‘s Tern Hill site.

“This investment allows us to remain at the forefront of our industry, meeting the demands of our customers, providing better quality produce and increasing flexibility,” said Mr Owens.
