Syngenta carboxamide fungicide approved for barley only

Approval for the first product containing Syngenta‘s much-anticipated second-generation carboxamide fungicide, isopyrazam, has been granted by the Chemicals Regulation Directorate.

Bontima, containing isopyrazam and cyprodinil, will be for use in winter and spring barley only. A wheat product is hoped to be introduced for the 2011 season.

In trials Bontima has given excellent control of rhynchosporium and net blotch, the firm says.
