Wheat in North Wales is now ready to combine
Wheat in North Wales is now ready to combine.
A good weather forecast should see Hugh Jones wrap up his 24ha (60 acres) of winter wheat this weekend. He hoped to begin combining tomorrow.
The 18ha (45acres) of Gladiator and 6ha (15 acres) of Alchemy both looked good this year, grown on heavy land near Rhyl.
He thought yields would turn out well, especially given the ongoing bull run in grain markets. “Prices are looking better,” he said.
Mr Hugh Jones remained optimistic because despite the weather, this year’s priced looked good.
